Barber Marketing: Google Business Profile + Instagram (Playbook)

Barber Marketing: Google Business Profile + Instagram (Playbook)

Barbering isn’t just about cutting hair — it’s about keeping your chair filled. Two free tools, Google Business Profile (GBP) and Instagram, can help you attract clients consistently. This playbook explains how to set them up, post effectively, and turn views into bookings.

Google Business Profile (GBP)

Google is where clients search “barber near me.” A complete GBP makes you discoverable. Steps:

  • Fill out name, address, phone, hours, and services.
  • Add photos of your shop, tools, and clients (with permission).
  • Post weekly updates (before/after shots work best).
  • Collect reviews after every appointment.

Instagram Marketing

Instagram is today’s portfolio. Focus on quality, consistency, and local hashtags.

  • Post 3–4 times per week: fades, shaves, transformations.
  • Use geotags (#BrooklynFades, #PhillyBarber).
  • Pin a reel with your booking link at the top of your profile.

Weekly Marketing Schedule

Example:

  • Monday: Post fade tutorial reel
  • Wednesday: Post shop photo on GBP
  • Friday: Client testimonial story
  • Saturday: Offer promotion or discount code

Tools to Simplify

Use booking apps that integrate with Google and Instagram. Link to them in your bio and GBP. Our Business & Marketing Course provides templates and step-by-step strategies.

FAQ

Do I need a website? Not at first. GBP and Instagram can carry your bookings, but a site adds professionalism.

How do I get reviews? Ask directly at checkout. Offer QR codes or text links.

What hashtags should I use? Combine local (#DallasBarber) and general (#FadeHaircut) for reach and relevance.
